Heavenly Mountain Design & Marketing

Overview

Client: Heavenly Mountain Resort

Project: Ongoing Marketing & Design Support

Description:  I worked with Heavenly Mountain in both an in-house and contract capacity for five years.

Scope: Creative Direction, Design Thinking & Development

On- Mountain Merchandising Campaign Development & Design

Design Process:
Over the course of five summer and winter seasons, I designed and executed 50+ on-mountain campaigns for ski and ride school, on-mountain dining, equipment rentals, events and on-mountain activities. This process included leading discovery sessions with stakeholders for each campaign, proposing concepts with imagery and headlines, organizing and directing photoshoots and following the resort’s brand standards. Project management and assets distribution was a key piece of owning the on-mountain merchandising project, I was in charge of managing the budget and procurement with print vendors, communicating with the Heavenly sign shop to produce and install large on-mountain banners and signage and distributing the merchandising assets to 20+ locations across the mountain and its lodges.

On-Mountain Branding

Design Process:
Heavenly Mountain has four base areas, 12 on-mountain restaurants and a handful of key stakeholders with consistent and ongoing marketing and design needs. I took on requests as small as designing restaurant menus and as big as designing national campaigns and dreaming up a new wrap for the iconic Heavenly Tram.

Logo design, merchandise concepts and execution for Heavenly’s Cal Bar.

Logo design, merchandise concepts and execution for Heavenly’s Sky Deck restaurant.

Concept and design for a more party-centric wrap for the Heavenly Tram.

Ski the Same Day Free Campaign

Design Process:
I worked with the Heavenly marketing team to develop campaign concepts for a billboard that was strategically placed on US-395 near Mammoth, California – one of Heavenly’s main competitors for the Southern California market. Visitors from L.A. and Southern California could spend a day driving to Mammoth or fly to Lake Tahoe and make it to the resort in time to ski or ride in the afternoon. I executed these campaigns using Heavenly’s existing brand standards and created compelling visual composites using a mix of professional photography and stock art.
